Tomorrow marks the first day of Summer. We have had some teases with 90 degree days but just yesterday we had a downpour of rain. But we know it is coming. The only other downside of this year is that our kids are still in school for 6 more days. Thank you EPIC snowstorm! We will make it.
After almost 15 years of marriage I have discovered the seasons that are harder and more challenging on our relationship. And while summer is full of awesome things it has also proven to be a difficult time for us to stay connected. We are staying up late, waking up tired and overall exhausted from all the thins. This is why I have created my own date night summer challenge. It is a little similar to January Date Nights but not as intense.
My only requirement is to go on one date a month for June, July & August. Easy, right? Well, it should be. Sometimes it is but there are other times it isn’t so easy. Here is a quick way to plan summer date nights.
- Put it on your calendar – This is the most important thing. Between vacations, work and kid’s camp schedule you have to find a date that works.
- Find childcare – Another tricky part of date nights. Arrange playdates, ask for Grandma Camp or try whatever you can to make it happen.
- #Optoutside – One of the downsides of January Date Nights is you are limited to indoor activities and this is what makes summer date nights so awesome! There are so many great outdoor activities. Try something new!
- Enjoy your time together. -Just enjoy being together! That’s all.
